LOCAL DISASTER PREPAREDNESS and RESPONSE

This is a two-pronged effort. the first prong is to be prepared to respond to needs outside of Henry County. The other prong is to prepare the local churches to help in the event of a disaster within Henry County.

FIRST PRONG: Responding to disasters OUTSIDE of Henry County

Objective is to respond to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of people who have been through a natural disaster

The Goal is to share God’s love and mentor our youth in the area of responding through families responding with their teen/college youth

Current Need for Responding Outside of Henry County

NEXT STEPS: Develop checklists and plans for deploying, either unilaterally or to support disaster response organizations like SBC, BGAV, and Samaritan’s Purse

SECOND PRONG: Preparing HCBAV Churches to Respond to Need WITHIN Henry County and our immediate area.

Objectives: To assess and plan for the churches in HCBAV to work together in the event of local disaster

GOALS: To assure that the churches of HCBAV are prepared to help meet our communities’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs in the event of a local disaster

NEXT STEPS: Survey churches on spaces, restroom/shower facilities, kitchen facilities and other resources that can be duplicated with other churches, and make decisions on what and how the churches can be of assistance in response to a local disaster of any kind.
