Recognizing that all need for prayer is important, generally, this page is for those prayer needs that affect us on an associational level: prayer requests within the pastoral staff, associational staff, and for things that affect us from outside of individual churches. Please send Sharon and/or Rocky any new requests or updates. Also, let us know when it’s time to remove the prayer requests, including outcomes through which we see God’s work in answer to our prayers.
CURRENT PRAYER REQUESTS
Pastor Tony Lundy of Axton Baptist Church has been dealing with heart issues for some time now, and is slowly recovering after surgery to implant a pacemaker/defibrillator. His greatest desire is to get back behind the pulpit and requested our prayers. Through weekly contact, I’m hearing that he is getting better, with God’s help and the prayers of His people.
Pastor John Rigney of Greenwood Baptist Church in Axton called to let us know that his father was taken to Duke Hospital suffering from pneumonia with complications. At last communication, his father is doing better and expected to recover fully. As of 1/9/2025, Pastor Rigney’s father is still in Duke, but out of ICU, and is breathing better on oxygen. He had been through radiation for lung cancer, and then contracted pneumonia, from which a blood clot formed. So, he’s still battling, but seems to be gaining ground. Pastor Rigney asked me to pass his appreciation for the prayers of fellow pastors.
