We are an association of Southern Baptist Churches within Henry County and the City of Martinsville, Virginia, which are voluntarily aligned through the HCBAV, dedicated to the supposition that we can do more to minister to our community united together through the power of the Holy Spirit than we can separately.

Our Mission Statement (two half-sheet copies for use as bulletin inserts)

Our churches are bound together by the Baptist Faith & Message. The Southern Baptist Convention called for and adopted the latest edition, the Baptist Faith & Message  2000, to deal with growing efforts to drive social change – both inside Christendom and throughout society – through obfuscation of definitions to terminology never before questioned. This latest edition protects the integrity of the Church by assuring that we are using terminology in keeping with Biblical definitions and understandings.

We are guided by the words of Jesus Christ in His Great Commission, shaped by the words of Apostle Paul in Ephesians 4:11-13 that together teach us that our pastors and teachers are given to equip and prepare us to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world. We come together in the knowledge that our salvation is the free gift of God, saved from our sins and saved to an abundant life promised by Jesus in John 10:10b, through sharing the Gospel – the Good News of Jesus Christ – and walking in the good works God established for us, as Paul further taught us in Ephesians 2:8-10.

HCBAV governing documents are contained within our HCBAV 2017 Handbook, including the latest edition of our Constitution and by-laws from 2017, which are currently under revision.
